service Karey was attentive and accommodating. the food was great ( other then my over medium eggs where over hard) a small issue promptly fixed. thanks again to my bartender Karey you sure make me feel welcom!
Sitting on the patio w/water refresher mists for happy hour today. We got a few apps from the Happy Hour menu etc. Decently priced and it's in the Summerlin area location so it's not far from me. Overall I would go back for some more cheap apps as long as it's cooler weather for the patio etc.
Decided to head over here as it's been on my try list forever. Was greeted promptly by the friendly host. Opted for a high table just before the patio. Our order was taken by our server. When I said no pico or cilantro on my shrimp taco, she said there's none of that, just a slaw. Out comes the shrimp taco and... the slaw had TONS of chopped cilantro. So I had to pick out every last bit (nasty soapy vile green weed) of it. We quickly ate the rest of our food and waited for the spicy shrimp tempura. And waited. About 5-8 min. later, what looked to be the manager swung by and asked if everything was OK, to which I replied "no." I told her that we'd been waiting for the shrimp tempura. She said she'll go check on it. Long story short - the manager said we don't have a bill. My husband explained that we weren't looking for a free meal and she said don't worry about it. Evidently our server forgot about the tempura. We did finally get it and it was deeelicious! Not spicy at all (whew!). Overall, the food was great, and the service (from the manager) couldn't have been better. Our server rates a 2.5. Hence the 4-star review. Planning on going back for more of the "spicy" shrimp tempura. In Boca Park right off Rampart.
I came with three families, and I've always had a wonderful experience when it was just adults. This time, we had kids from the soccer team with us. Unfortunately, instead of taking the kids' orders first, the waitress prioritized serving drinks to the men. I understand that drinks often come first in restaurants, but the kids were quite hungry and a little impatient. I kept suggesting that we should get food for the kids, but it seemed like she didn't focus on their needs. While she was nice and kind, her attention was mainly on the adults. We now realize that it might not always be a place for kids but we will make sure that next time, we manage the timing better so that the kids aren't left feeling hungry and upset. One child even lost his appetite while waiting for his meal to arrive after the adults had been served. In the future, we would appreciate it if the kids' orders could be prioritized before the adults. Thank you for your understanding!
Kona Grill for lunch today! Booked my reservation and as soon as I stepped foot into the door I was enthusiastically greeted by their General Manager Ralph and Niki the sweetest hostesses ever in Town seated me in the perfect spot in the restaurant which was the booth where I can dine, unwind and vibe to their upbeat music! Angelica is a phenomenal server! I asked her what she recommends for lunch today and she asked me questions to get a better idea of what my desired taste buds are. While Angelica put the pieces together I decided to order her suggestions with a little modification to the House Field Salad with Modified the Sunset Sushi Roll, sub the shrimp tempura for yellow tail. Everything is refreshing and very fulfilling! I ended my lunch with dessert (Chocolate cake, side vanilla ice cream) and an espresso shot! I'm now feeling energized and leaving satisfied with the high quality service Kona Grill has to offer!
In my efforts to keep things "up to date," I must reassure all the readers that Kona Grill is still as awesome as ever. Today's visit was even better than all of them due to our server, TAMMY, who was outstanding! Right away when my friend and I were seating in her area, she could read us right away and knew we wanted to take our time and enjoy each other's company. She took our orders and never hurried us along refilling drinks from our never-ending thirst all afternoon. I've never experienced that before in my many years of meeting with long lost friends. And I'm old, this is not my first rodeo! Tammy was more than patient with us and gave us the privacy and attention that was perfect. And!! The food was excellent! Thank you, Tammy, for your fantastic service and great personality. And thank you to the Kona Grill hostess and management for making this one of the best restaurants in town. See you soon!
I did want to give Kona Grill an updated four stars because of how unusually warm it was inside, but the food and especially the service made me put my doubts aside for the 5 stars. My server Sam did not let down at all. She was my same server the last time I came. I went with all the recommendations she had then and now. Service was fast, attentive and a pleasant experience. Six stars for Sam! This time we had a few appetizers. The gyoza and fries are a great order. Both were cooked perfectly and the sauces that came with complimented each of the dishes. For my entree, Sam recommended the shrimp tacos and they were so, flavorful, light and filling at the same time. Always a great time and eat here. I'm hoping the next time I come with a party the heat will stay outside and not inside, we will chalk it up to an anomaly.
Tammy my services made my meal extra special! She refilled my water with lemon several times and waited as I wanted to check out the happy hour offerings. That happy hour 2-6 is a BARGAIN! So much food, $3, $6 and $9 bucks to choose from. Drinks were plentiful too. They also have an express 3 course lunch for 19 bucks, served in 45 mins. So good and speedy. The reverse happy hour starts at 9 and goes til closing. What a hidden gem!
A good spot to come for a later bite in this area. I love that there's two happy hours and the second one is from 6pm to close. We got there at 10:30pm and sat outside on the patio which was nice given the weather at that time. The music was a bit loud outside. The service was good. Plenty of staff available to help. I usually get the lettuce wraps but last time we came for Three Square's restaurant week. I got a sparkling raspberry mojito which was fantastic. Our other drink was an old fashioned but that wasn't the best we've had. For our first course we got the Ribeye Meatballs and the Picasso roll. They were both good but my fav was the Picasso roll. The meatballs reminded me of meatloaf paired with the mashed potatoes and sweet chili glaze. For our second course we got 10oz Prime Rib and the Kona Surf and Turf. Both were good and cooked to a medium. I was stuffed at this point but we both ordered the NY cheesecake. A cute date spot, girls night, or fun place to watch sports.
